“Pleasant hotel with good beach and pool facilities, dining disappointing”
We enjoyed a 10 day stay at the Acapulco at the end of October. The first weekend we were there was absolutely manic, due to Bayram, a local festival. This meant that the lobby area resembled a luggage store most days, with people arriving and departing and meals were awful. The food selection is great, but there is no management in the dining room and no one has considered what the experience is like for the diner. There are queues for everything, which could be avoided easily by having 2 stations for bread, several different areas for jams and sauces at breakfast, so that it doesn't turn into such a bun fight. At the busiest times we dreaded going to 'do battle' at breakfast and dinner and meals weren't very social as everyone was in different queues.
Apart from that, the hotel was fine. Rooms were good and very clean, with great housekeeping The pool and beach facilities were good, but after Bayram there was a real sense that the season was over, despite guests still using the facilities. No ice creams in the pool bar, sun loungers being packed up around us and chaotic service in the pool bar.
Over all, I would use the Acapulco again as it has good facilities, but I would avoid busy times. Customer service training leaves a lot to be desired!
