“The Green Holiday Village - our review”
A nice place to stay but lacking life.
We arrived at the Green Holiday Village late at night and it was incredibly quiet, which for us seemed to be a good thing! There wasn't anywhere to eat in the hotel that night so we decided to go to our rooms and check everything out the next day.
The room was lovely- really spacious and light. It was immaculately clean but we got the feeling that it hadn't been used in a while. The hotel's general décor/furniture was tasteful, clean and very comfortable.
When we woke up the next day, it was still very quiet! We went down for breakfast and there was hardly anyone around. Posters and notices on the wall were dated which gave us the impression that it wasn't a popular place to be.
The hotel did feel like it was out in the sticks a bit. There were a few bars/restaurants a fair walk away but it certainly wasn't amid a hub of interest.
The hotel's facilities were good and the swimming pool area was particularly spacious and comfortable. Throughout our stay we couldn't fault a lot (although the food wasn't great) but we just kept feeling that the place lacked something. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for an entertaining holiday. But for those who expect peace and quiet, it is an adequate hotel with some features being better.
Liked — very comfortable place
Disliked — entertainment could have been better
