We loved this hotel! We stayed at the Topset hotel recently and I was very impressed with the service and with the hotel itself. Our room was larger than usual, with a lovely ocean view and an unusual layout. There were steps leading from the living area to the bedroom, which made it interesting and unlike every other hotel room. It was very comfortable and impeccably clean, with nice furnishings. A great northern cyprus hotel!

The Topset is located on the water, which makes it ideal if you want to do a little fishing or swimming. There's no actual beach but you still have access to the water, so we took advantage of the opportunity to cast our lines into the water in the hopes of snagging our dinner. No luck, but we had fun anyway. The water was warm too, so I had no problem getting in and it was really nice for swimming. The Topset hotel pool is better for sunbathing though, as it offers both sun and shade, so you can move to the shade when you get too hot from lying in the sun. I found the pool to be very peaceful, not overly crowded, and plenty large enough to have privacy for conversations.

The food in the hotel dining room was exceptional and the service couldn't be beat. The waiters were always smiling and upbeat and the food, especially in the evenings, was better than average for a hotel. They offered evening buffets with extensive north cyprus selections, which kept us from getting bored and caused us to want to eat in the hotel's dining room most evenings, rather than venturing out to a local restaurant. I wasn't as impressed with the breakfast menu, as it offered a rather sparse selection, but the food was plenty good enough. The hotel grows some of it's own produce, so the food is fresher than you'll find in most hotel dining rooms. There's also a local supermarket nearby if you get the munchies between meals or if you need anything you forgot to bring.

The only negative to this hotel was the potential for noise in the middle of the night, caused by a local nearby tavern, which played loud music most nights until the early hours of the morning, and a nearby mosque, which had prayer calls at 4 am. If you're a light sleeper, these could be bothersome. Otherwise, it's an ideal location and during the daytime hours, I found the hotel to be extremely quiet and peaceful. Overall, it was a very relaxing vacation for us.

If you are flying out of Larnaca, take my advice and leave for the airport at least 5 hours before flight time, as you'll need the extra time due to the extra driving time and long check-in lines at the airport. Trying to make our flight back home was the only stressful part of our vacation. I do plan on coming back to north cyprus again and staying at the Topset again, as it was wonderful.
