Topset Hotel Review - 2 of 21 Reviews
This is a hotel review for Topset Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Lovely hotel, peaceful and quiet”
The Topset is a very relaxed hotel and we loved it because you would wander amongst the gardens or lounge by the pool, or sit by the sea, and nobody would hassle you or bother you. (The beach is man-made but who cares?!)
We booked a first floor double room in the Emir Topset (the new part) which was really spacious, and we loved sitting out on the balcony looking out to sea. The hotel is nice and quiet so the only noise you hear is the sea and the local chickens!
Our dinner was served on an open air terrace by the sea - lovely. The hotel offers a set menu but it was always good food, freshly cooked and tasty. I saw other guests ask for special dishes to suit their diets which were cooked for them with a smile!
Karaoglanoglu is a good place for a North Cyprus holiday because it's near the sea and just off the main road to Kyrenia and Lapta. There are cheap local restaurants and a couple of supermarkets so you can stock up on food and drinks if you want to. (Unlike some other North Cyprus hotels, the TopSet allows you to store as much of your own stuff in the room's fridge as you like, for a one-off payment of less than a fiver per week, which is well worth it as water is really cheap in the supermarkets.
We hired a car for 3 days (which the hotel organised very well) so we could see more of North Cyprus. Lapta old village is nice (not the coastal part) and the mountain castles were worth seeing even if the drive up and down was a bit hairy!
We'd come back to the Topset anytime.
Liked — peace and quiet
Disliked — rubbish in the sea (no fault of the hotel!)
