Rocks Hotel Review - 51 of 62 Reviews

Having read several reviews we decided to book the Rocks Hotel in Kyrenia for a weeks break in June 2014. This hotel is in a seafront location in the centre of Kyrenia. The hotel is rated as 5 star, and for the most part it is. The breakfast room is especially good to suit a wide selection of tastes. Dinner, if you are on half board, is buffet style in the same restaurant and again offers a good range of well prepared foods. If you prefer fine dining then that is also available in a separate restaurant and is recommended. Surprisingly, we found that the cost of the meal was on par with the restaurants at the harbour.

The narrow road at the front of the hotel is at the moment, having considerable work being done to it at the time of writing. Other reviewers found the construction work somewhat noisy, however we didn't find that to be the case as we stayed in a rear view room in the casino block. It's worth noting that the rooms in the casino block appear to be for smokers, although as non smokers we didn't notice it in our room. If it is something you're concerned about then it's worth asking for a non smoking room.

The pool area is across the road which is normally accessed by a tunnel (although not during the road construction) is extremely pleasant, with the pool attendants more than willing to make sure that everything that you require is catered for, even to the point of making sure that the sunbed canopies are reposition for you whenever required. Lunch is available at the pool restaurant and is reasonably priced.

The general ambience of the hotel is very good with pleasant, efficient staff as you would expect from a hotel of this rating, although we found room servicing not quite on the level we would expect. The room we had could do with updating as it was, in part, a little tired.

Overall, a pleasant stay in a hotel that we would certainly return to.
