Riviera Beach Bungalows Review - 3 of 18 Reviews

My family and I stayed at the Riviera Beach Bungalows recently and we thought it was really top of the line, as far as hotels go. Our room was quite nice and had a great view, but I did notice that some of the rooms had no view to speak of and faced a wall, so if you are reserving a room here, it would be a good idea to ask for an ocean view ahead of time to make the most of the North Cyprus views.

One of our favorite pasttimes while at the hotel was taking long walks and at the Riviera Beach, it was truly a pleasure, as the hotel grounds were beautifully landscaped and very well maintained. The pool also looked sparkling clean and the area around it was immaculate as well. There is a small beach but it's terribly rocky. In truth, the pool is much nicer but for those die-hard beach fanatics, at least there is access to the water.

Our hotel package came with breakfast included and although the food was rather basic, it was nevertheless delicious. We were served on the riviera beach bungalows terrace every morning and it was really relaxing and casual. In fact, the whole place is very relaxed and casual. This hotel is run by a family instead of a manager with staff, so it feels more homey and simple. Since we prefer homey and simple over extravagant, we truly enjoyed staying here. The family who runs the hotel is super nice and truly want to please their guests. Overall, it's one of the better hotels in the area, in my opinion, and if I get back to northern cyprus in the future, I'd like to stay here again.

The only negatives, we felt, were our disappointment in the town of Kyrenia and in the local cuisine throughout town. This really has nothing to do with the hotel, and if you are staying here simply for the rest and relaxation, it can't be beat. However, we wanted to do a little sightseeing in town and couldn't seem to go anywhere without being hassled by the locals who stand outside their places of business and try to drag you in. The town is really small and other than the marina, there isn't a lot to see or do. We also weren't too thrilled with the food in the city, as most restaurants seemed terribly overpriced and there was nothing outstanding about the food. The Veranda was one of the local restaurants we visited and it was the worst food I've ever eaten in my life. In addition, the place was noisy and seemed to cater to a rough crowd. I expected more from a place that by all outward appearances looked to be a nice place. In other words, stay at the Riviera Beach Bungalows if you're looking for rest and relaxation, by all means, but don't expect much in the way of entertainment in town.
