This is a hotel review for Riviera Beach Bungalows in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Riviera Beach Bungalows Reviewed”
Some family members and I travelled to northern cyprus and stayed at the Riviera Beach Bungalows for a week recently. As for the hotel itself, we couldn't have asked for a nicer place. We happened to get a pretty good room with a nice view, but I did notice that some of the rooms faced brick walls, so if you are reserving a room here, you might want to request a beachfront view.
The hotel grounds are immaculate and nicely landscaped, making it a pleasure to go for walks around the hotel. There's a small beach for swimming, although be careful as there's a lot of rocks. The hotel pool was quite nice and well maintained, so if you don't want to deal with the rocks on the beach, you can always use it instead.
Our hotel package came with breakfast included. They served us on the terrace and it was a wonderful way to start our mornings. The breakfast was delicious, although far from extravagant. The place is run by a very nice family, as opposed to a manager with staff, making it all seem very homey and relaxing. We actually enjoyed the simplicity of it all.
As nice as the Riviera Beach Bungalows was though, we were disappointed in the rest of the area. The nearby Northern Cyprus town of Kyrenia was smaller than we anticipated and there's not a lot to do. We did visit the marina, which is pretty, and enjoyed ourselves during that outing; however as you walk through the town, you get hassled by local businesses, as they try to drag you into their establishments.
The food, we thought, was very basic throughout the city and overpriced for North Cyprus as well. Even in the Riviera Beach Bungalows, the other daily meals didn't come close to the quality of the breakfasts. Around the corner from the Riviera is a restaurant called The Veranda with the most disappointing food and atmosphere we have ever encountered. The place was terribly overpriced and the food was bland and tasteless. The food in my high school cafeteria tasted better than the food in this restaurant. The crowd hanging out in the restaurant was rough and the place was loud. Not at all the nice atmosphere I'd expected from a place situated right on the sea in a rather lovely area.
I will say this much, however. The Riviera Beach Bungalows is a very relaxing place to spend a vacation, and much nicer than some of the other hotels in the area. If you're looking for rest and relaxation, it's a good place to stay.
Liked — lovely hotel and great breakfast
Disliked — noisy town wasnt nice
