This is a hotel review for Palm Beach Hotel in Famagusta, North Cyprus
“Beach hotel in Famagusta”
We booked the Palm Beach for a short break during a longer stay with family in south Cyprus, so we combine a visit to Famagusta and a beach break together. Our room faced the sea and was tired but functional. (We had been warned not to expect too much by other reviews!)
The beach was big, lots of room for everyone, and never a battle to get a sunlounger and sunshade. We appreciated the service of clean towels from the beach ht, so you didn't bring sand back into your room. Unlike a lot of North Cyprus beaches, this one was clean, well kept and well-stocked with sunloungers and comfy cushions. The swimming pool was small and not very nice - most people were on the beach anyway.
Old Famagusta is fascinating, and a walk along the massive fortified walls is a must. The locals make much of the Othello tower, but there is no hard evidence that Shakespeare's hero came from Cyprus, but then, Juliet's balcony in Venice isn't genuine either!
Liked — clean beach
Disliked — tired room
