This is a hotel review for Oscar Resort Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Disappointing”
Wonderful infrastructure , swimming pools and grounds with wonderful sea views. Approach from land side dreadful. hidden away behind half finished high rise apartments and a derelict demolition site. Bedrooms nice but if overlooking grounds then suffer badly from hotel noise as all entertainment takes p[lace on veranda below accommodation rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities, but no tea or coffee etc! Have to buy from bar and then cooffee is sold by the teaspoon from a large dirty tin! Breakfast usual extensive Mediterranean Buffet but no fresh fruit juices - just water orange squash which was sickly sweet. Cooked breakfast consisted of eggs - scrambled, fried or omelettes, half local sausages, no bacon ( although pork products are now available in most Kyrenia Tavernas), no grilled tomatoes, baked beans, or mushrooms either.
Room was not ready when we arrived (13.00hrs) nor was it cleaned next day until the same time despite the 'please make up room' sign being on the door handle since 09.00! Lunch was taken in a pool side bar (a la carte restaurant apparently not available).. First item chosen - Cesar Salad - not available. With one or two notable exceptions, staff seemed surley and not interested. Not recommended.
