Mountain View Hotel Review - 7 of 27 Reviews

My boyfriend and I just got back from a brilliant week at this hotel. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel so welcome by all the staff and the family who own the hotel. We stayed in a one bed bungalow which was spotlessly clean and just what we wanted. The rooms are 3 star and when we asked for extra pillows it was no problem at all and they were brought up to the room within the hour of us asking. George and Marcus - the two barmen are brilliant, so friendly and chatty and happy to get anything for you - and as I have a difficult diet they and the chef helped cater to my needs perfectly. The food is good but basic - but at £7 a night for half board which is 3 courses it is more than what we were expecting it to be. They also have lots of offers round the hotel - such as daily cocktail specials and really nice fruit smoothies. We rented a car for three days to explore Famagusta and the Karpaz but for the rest of the time we just got the buses from the top of the road - we loved that the hotel was out of town but only a 8 minute bus ride for 2ytl! There is also a beach - kervanseray - within about a 7 minute walk. We found the location perfect for us. Loved every minute and really wished we could stay longer. One of the highlights was tagging along with one of the family members who works on the turtle project - got to see loads of baby turtles close up and going into water - we're coming back next year to go and see the adults. Really special place and wish next summer would come quicker! Oh and I'd definitely advise to book direct as we got one night free half board and a room discount! you really can't fault them on value for money!
