Merit Crystal Cove Hotel Review - 21 of 51 Reviews

My husband and I stayed at the Merit Crystal Cove from 10th - 17th March and were both impressed with the hotel, the weather could have been kinder, but that is in the lap of the gods, lots of rain and wind and quite cold, so be choosy about the time you visit. Locals seem to think that after the 15th March the weather improves, but I am not sure. Maybe April would be a better time.

The hotel is lovely, well appointed with beautiful views both to the mountains and across the sea, the food was excellent well prepared and plentiful. Only problem we encountered, the hotel is well used for conferences and seminars, I guess during the quiet months, to keep the hotel open. The conference guests dominated the hotel in the mornings, lunchtimes and evenings for food, consequently the dining room was always full, with each person really stocking up on food as if they had not eaten for a month, but there again perhaps they hadn't ! ! ! ! ! There was still enough for everyone. There is tea/coffee making facilities in the room, restocked every day, as is the free mini bar, admittedly only with water and soft drinks but it is something. The only downside was the renovation work taking place on the floor below us, but then again we did not have to stay in our room, if it became a nuisance we could always sit in the lounge to read. With the hotel being open all year, then renovations have to be done sometime.

Booking through Go North Cyprus.com was an easy experience and one I would definately use again. They were most helpful and even tho they are obviously not Abta/Atol bonded, being out of the UK, pay on your creidt cards and you are perfectly secure, and NO credit card charges, unlike the UK. The taxi from Larnaca was superb and well organised. The flight on EasyJet from Gatwick was good, providing you had the speedy boarding. Going into Larnaca saves landing in Istanbul. The journey to Kyrenia on the courtesy bus, leaving 4 times a day was good, always on time.

Would we use this hotel again ? Definately but at a later time in the year, avoiding July and August, too many children I fear,maybe September.
