This is a hotel review for Malpas Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“First Class Bargain!”
I had the opportunity to enjoy a super 3 week break in the Malpas in December when I took advantage of a Book 2 weeks Get the 3rd free on B&B and without the dreaded single supplements, which is a first for North Cyprus! It certainly attracted many other solo travellers to the hotel and many couples from far and wide.
My room was spacious, comfortable, clean and well maintained. Getting up in the morning was a pleasure with the far reaching sea views towards the Taurus Mountain Range of mainland Turkey in the distance. The tranquillity of the location was just ideal for my spiritual reading and music.
The food was very good and the waiter service excellent. Those whose birthdays fell during their stay were surprised with a lovely decorated table, birthday cake and gratis coffee, albeit with a trio of Turkish waiters singing Happy Birthday - a nice little touch which was enjoyed by all. The food was both presentable and delicious with a variety of dishes to placate the most of discerning pallets. If you'd like something which isn't on the open buffet, then don't be afraid to ask as the staff are very helpful.
The Dining Room and Bar staff had all changed since my last visit 6 months ago but all were professional, courteous and cheerful making dining a delightful experience. They all had that “Can-Do” attitude and nothing was too much for them. The Owner, Deputy Manager along with the restaurant supervisor were often seen greeting guests and making themselves available should anyone wish to talk to them.
The downstairs Health & Fitness Centre was much in use as were the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. For those who wish to be a little more independent I arranged a car rental for half of my stay and found another excellent rate breaking deal through A-One Rent a Car opposite the Altinkaya Hotel who have served me well throughout my visits.
The doormen, reception, reservations, night and day duty managers, waiters, chefs, cleaners and maintenance personnel, through to the hotel manager, deputy manager and the guest relations staff, were all great, empathic, compassionate, caring and professional. It was also delightful to be able to test my string of language abilities with a few waiters who spoke Turkish, English, German, Russian and Arabic!
The Malpas reminded me of a little piece of heaven, a place where a great many souls stay to seek healing of the mind, body and soul and meet those transitory bringers of light who have much to give!
Did I enjoy the fantastic offer and single supplement free break and would I stay again? In one word – Yes!

Disliked — That I couldn't stay longer!
