Firstly I tend to believe the hotel on the third floor issue (see other reviews) it was a full house while we stayed but the the top floor was out of action.

Smart new well designed and furnished block. Great views of the sea. The cost of drinks is not out of place for a high end hotel (see other reviews £5 per glass, £25 bottle of wine). Food is buffet style, various bands during the week doing good cover versions of 60s classics.

Outdoor pool is unheated, but lots of loungers and towels. Small but efficient gym. Good all round service. Not everyone can speak english, but we had no problems, they even organised our car hire for us (no fee). The place is popular with golfing tour groups from Sweden. A lot of smokers puffing away indoors.

Down side, the room upon arrival could have been cleaner, dead bloodly mosquito on headboard, sticky notices and poor laundry as the clean sheets bore an old stain. We arrived late, too tired to have it re-done. It was all rectified on the following day. Which reminds me pack your mossie killer.

Kyrenia harbour bars overpriced, esp the ones priced in Euros. No different to the mark up in St Mark's Sq. You are paying for your view. Other sights worth the trip: Bellapais, St Hilarion, Old Famagusta, the walled district.

We crossed by car going in (no problem) organised by gonorthcyprus and by foot (at Ledra Palace) on the return. There was only one cab on the Greek side, 46 euros from ledra palace to the airport v £50 via gonorthcyprus (door to door).
