We booked the Malpas Hotel for a week, and wished we had booked longer! Despite initial concerns that it might be more a casino than a hotel, we were impressed with the quality and cleanliness. The bathroom was clean and in good order, which can't be said of every hotel bathroom we've seen in North Cyprus. The friendly staff always made time to talk to us 'old folk', and the buffet food was excellent.

We really didn't need our hire car, as we only drove into Kyrenia a couple of times for a meal, and explored the countryside to the west one day. We should have hired a car from the hotel for one or two days instead and taken taxis into Kyrenia as it would have been cheaper.

North Cyprus in the winter is very pleasant, and we were lucky with the weather too. There was some noise from building work in the hotel during the daytime, but they said this would be finished before the start of the summer season.
