My wife and I have just returned from a two week holiday in the North of Cyprus where we booked a stay at the Malpas Hotel. I initially researched the hotel online and found some very positive and encouraging reviews, not to mention some extraordinary scenery pictures. My wife loves the great outdoors and with the Maplas overlooking the five finger mountain ranges I thought this to be the perfect holiday retreat.

We arrived early in the day and were very pleased to be met with extremely pleasant and well mannered staff who did all they could to make us comfortable upon arrival. The hotel itself was far more impressive than the brochure had led us to believe and the entire place was spotless. Not being one for swimming, I preferred to visit the exclusive beach club, which was only a few minutes away from the hotel complex. However we feel it only fair to say the hotel pool was just as clean as the rest of the hotel.

Our room was also a lovely surprise. My wife and I are seasoned travelers but rarely have we come across a room with such a spacious layout. The room, once again, was extremely clean and had many touches of luxury which made all the difference. Initially we had decided to eat out on the evenings to experience the local foods first hand, however after the first evening in, we decided the Malpas hotel food was outstanding and chose to dine in for the rest of the holiday, only venturing out at lunch times. Breakfast was much the same, very fresh, high quality food that actually made us look forward to meal times. The Malpas clearly prides itself on being a 5 star hotel, and it's well deserved in our opinion.

Overall we could not speak highly enough of the Malpas. We've visited Cyprus around 5 times in the past few years, both on holiday breaks and with work on medical conventions, yet this was the most relaxing and enjoyable visit to date. We are yet to find another hotel that offers such comfort with a feeling of relaxation that allowed my Wife and I to unwind from our somewhat stressful careers. No sooner had we returned home we decided to book the the Malpas for our next break in six months time.
