I had a lovely stay at the Lapida garden hotel. It's a small, family run hotel and its owners are really friendly and helpful.

The hotel rooms are nicely decorated and very clean, with good facilities. The best thing about my room was the beautiful mountain view. It really was breathtaking.

The hotel food was tasty, with a traditional continental style breakfast, full of fresh fruit (I absolutely hate hotels which don't offer fruit so this was a big plus!) Although I stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, I did eat in the hotel restaurant on two occasions and had two brilliant meals. I loved the fact that they offered home cooked Turkish-Cypriot dishes as I really believe that when visiting a country you should eat like a local.

The Lapida Hotel is set in beautiful gardens, with a nice pool at the bottom. It was wonderful to sit among the fruit trees and flowers soaking up the sun.

The only drawback about this hotel is that you have to take the dolmus, which is like a minibus, to travel anywhere as the hotel is quite isolated. I'm really keen on site seeing so used it on almost a daily basis. My favourite place to visit was Kyrenia Harbour which was about a 30 minute ride away.

The thing that stands out about the Lapida Hotel is its peaceful and friendly atmosphere. You get treated very well by the owners- nothing is too much trouble and they have gone to a lot of effort to make their hotel grounds and rooms appealing to guests. I would recommend it to people looking for a quiet getaway.
