Hotel Sempati Review - 4 of 30 Reviews
This is a hotel review for Hotel Sempati in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Better than 3 star”
When we checked in to the Sempati I asked for a sea view room, and the receptionist simply smiled and said "They all have a sea view!" It was the same throughout the holiday, the staff taking a quiet pride in their hotel and their country, despite the few moaning Brits that seemed to find fault with everything.
I felt really able to relax at the Sempati, since I could usually get a sun lounger by the pool, and the bar was never very far away! The curved shape of the hotel acts like a suntrap, so it does get hot by the pool, but that's usual for summer in Cyprus. The beach nearby is separate from the hotel and you do have to pay about 5 YTL to get in, but if you feel the need for sand between your toes, it's worth it as the beach is clean, unlike a lot of North Cyprus public beaches.
The hotel food was good, with plenty to choose from at breakfast too. Our room was spotlessly clean and really light, and the balcony looked over the pool to the sea beyond - great view. Only downside was that the pool and bar were right underneath our balcony, so it was noisy at night if you left the windows open. Our air conditioning leaked the first night but was fixed the next day, so we used that most nights and so the bar noise and mosquitos weren't a problem!
The Sempati offers you a lot for a 3 star hotel and with Europe so expensive now, we will definately be going back in 2009.
