Hotel Club Z Review - 5 of 21 Reviews

Myself and a small group of friends booked in to Club Z and were spread about the hotel. Those of us who had an upstairs room had a lovely view of the mountains but those who were unfortunate to be downstairs had rooms which were darkened by trees directly outside the windows. The location of the hotel was good as it was only a 10 minute walk from the town centre.

Despite some of the rooms having good views, their condition wasn't fantastic. The beds and space was comfortable but during the whole stay, we never felt that the rooms were very clean. Upon arrival they didn't seem to have been properly cleaned: the pillows were slightly stained and the floor was dusty. Also, when they were cleaned during the stay, it was very difficult to notice what the room attendants had actually done. The facilities in the room were incredibly simple and poorly designed: there were not bedside light switches and the lights were generally quite dim. In addition, the water came out of the taps in the bathroom in different directions! The balcony doors were also really stiff and got stuck on several occasions. A plus point however was the fact that the rooms had a kettle and fridge.

Although the staff seemed fairly friendly, we did question whether or not they could be trusted. Some of our belongings went missing during our stay, including some of our laundry. Also, when were did have a concern about our rooms, they were very reluctant to do anything about it, we felt like we were pestering them in the end which is not what you would want on a relaxing holiday. Another thing we had to complain about was the lack of variety at meal times.

Our group were impressed with the hotel's swimming pools. They had both an indoor and outdoor pool, with the outdoor area being particularly spacious. Generally the hotel seemed to be stuck in a rut and in need of a few improvements that would make a world of difference. Although they were refurbishing parts, their biggest need for improvement was attention to detail in terms of the staff and their attitude. Unless things changed considerably, I wouldn't decide to visit the hotel again.
