Hotel Bellapais Gardens Review - 4 of 15 Reviews

My wife booked a surprise visit to North Cyprus through Gary for our 25th wedding anniversary and we had the fortune of staying at the Hotel Bellapais Gardens. The whole stay from start to finish was just sensational. I've already promised that we'll return for her 50th birthday.

I'm really keen on history, including religious history, so for the hotel to be set in the mountains, near Bellapais Abbey is literally perfect. Although I have to say, we found it really hard to leave the hotel and go sight-seeing because we were so happy and relaxed to just be sitting in its beautiful grounds.

Our chalet was spacious and immaculately clean. It wasn't ultra-modern and we had a few niggles but they were negligible when compared to the quality of holiday we had. The mountain views were just stunning.

I was really impressed with the hotel staff. As it isn't a large hotel, they clearly recognise the importance of making a lasting impression on their guests. They were so friendly and helped us no-end with suggestions of where to visit and how to get there.

Our absolute favourite part of the hotel was its mountain-view restaurant. To be honest, the food could have been distinctly average and it would have gone unnoticed because of the view but this wasn't even an issue because the food was really excellent. It was selected from an array of locally inspired recipes and you could tell that all of the ingredients were incredibly fresh.

It is really hard to say anything negative about this hotel. It was peaceful and beautiful. It probably wouldn't appeal to everyone because it was so quiet but that appeals even more to me because I know that when we stay there, we won't be kept up by loud neighbours.
