What a gorgeous hotel the Hideaway Club is! I did not want to leave, which says it all. The scenery all around is just beautiful, with views from the pool across to the mountain peaks, and colourful flowers everywhere. We upgraded to a private suite and it had its own private terrace which was perfect for relaxing and reading on. I loved the drapes over the comfortable bed and the really gorgeous luxury bathroom with full-size shower cubicle.

Breakfast was scrumptious with everything you could ask for, even freshly cooked omelettes, eggs and bacon. We ordered it on room service a couple of times which was a lovely treat. After that we lazed by the swimming pool and met some other really nice couples who were staying there too. No-one had a bad word to say about the Hideaway Club which lives up to its name as a true luxury hideaway.

The staff by the pool were great, and always smiling and laughing with us. Our room was always immaculately clean, as were all the hotel areas. You could not wish for more. Food in the restaurant was very good and not that expensive. The house wine was also very drinkable. On Friday night they had a Cypriot culture night and served a delicious lamb dish and other local cuisine. There was a local belly dancer which was fun. My favourite table was out on the rooftop terrace looking at the stars – amazing.

It was hard to leave and explore the rest of the area but we did. The St Hilarian Castle is close to the hotel with excellent views over the coast and town. Kyrenia has plenty of nice local shops, a harbour and an old castle. There are several good beaches we went to and the ruins of Bellapais Abbey were lovely to walk around. Everywhere in North Cyprus is so pretty with sea and mountain views. I cannot say enough about this great hotel and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. I can't wait to go back!
