We always enjoy coming back to the Hideaway, because we know we will be made to feel very welcome, which is important to us. We like the good service, the nice food and the lovely views, which set this hotel apart from others in North Cyprus that we tried when looking at buying property here. (In the end, we didn't buy an apartment as it would have cost us a lot upfront, and it worked out cheaper to stay in a hotel for the few weeks we visit North Cyprus instead.)

As always, the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, light and airy, and the pool area kept very tidy even in the spring winds. The Hideaway staff are helpful and considerate, but also respect your privacy if you don't want to be bothered. (Although it's good to go to the owner's cocktail party to get to know people.)

We always fly into Larnaca airport which is cheaper than Ercan airport, and just want to say to anyone nervous about this that crossing the border in a pre-arranged taxi transfer is really easy, and 9 times out of 10 you don't even need to get out of the taxi at the border.
