Green Holiday Village Review - 5 of 7 Reviews

We booked our stay at the Green Holiday Village in November of last year. We had never been to North Cyprus before, and we were looking for a relatively inexpensive (but not “cheap”) hotel where my wife and I could enjoy the company of other families and generally just relax in relative peace. For the most part, the Green Holiday Village catered really well to our needs and we can definitely recommend it.

The staff at the hotel were pleasant enough and spoke enough English to answer any questions we had during our stay. We were shown to our rooms (which is always nice) and when we got there we found them in excellent shape. The accommodation was very comfortable and well lit, and streets ahead of other places we've stayed at a similar price. Similarly, the swimming pools, hotel bar and gardens were expertly maintained and a joy to spend time around.

Unfortunately, there were some downsides to our stay at the Green Holiday Village. Directly outside the front entrance is a busy main road, which is teeming with traffic for most of the day and night. Not only does this produce a lot of noise pollution, but it's also difficult to cross- something you need to do eventually if you're going to get to the bus stop that takes you to the harbour and other interesting locations. The harbour is a fair distance from the hotel, but if you're able to rent a car this is much less of a problem.

Another issue is the multitude of private beaches that exist in the surrounding areas. Many of the best beaches we found we were denied entry to unless we paid a fee, which can get annoying if you don't want to walk for half an hour in order to find somewhere to enjoy.
