After a hectic Christmas working the entire time, my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a last minute winter holiday in the sun. We searched around quite a bit for a place that would offer a bit of entertainment, whilst still allowing us time to relax. We found the Dome Hotel and it seemed perfect for just that and in reality, it was as good as we'd expected. We had read mixed reviews about the hotel but since we've stayed there, we really don't have a bad word to say about it.

The room we had was spotlessly clean, with amazing views out to sea. It was so relaxing to wake up everyday hearing waves lapping against the shore. The hotel room was a tad old-fashioned, especially with the doors being locked with a key, but I wouldn't say that it was something negative, just surprising.

During the day we either sat out on the hotel terrace, drinking coffee and admiring the view or went exploring in the town, which we felt had a lot to offer with its history and vast array of traditional restaurants.

The facilities at the hotel were really good- it gave the right balance between entertaining and relaxing. We did venture into the casino on one night but it was very quiet; I'm guessing because we stayed there off-season.

The breakfast in the hotel was excellent. There was so much on offer both hot and cold. However, we found that in the evening, the restaurant menu was a little pricey, as were the drinks, so we visited local restaurants most evenings.

The staff at the Dome Hotel were really friendly and helpful: they were more than happy to give us directions when we went out on our adventures. We have both said that we would definitely visit the Dome Hotel again and next time maybe in the summer so that we can take advantage of the hotel's pools and beach.
