This is a hotel review for Dome Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Wont be going back!”
The Dome Hotel, while geographically in a perfect spot for the very pretty area of Kyrenia, is desperately in need of some refurbishment. It reminded us of fawlty towers in so many ways. The rooms were spotless so cleaning was not an issue but the tiles were hanging off in the bathroom, every time you turned the tap on it would come off the basin in your hand, the beds were really hard, the pillows even harder, the air conditioning just threw the air around so it wasnt really air conditioning, there was no plug for the bath, the safe sometimes worked, mostly not and the fitted furniture was literally falling apart. The room bar was well stocked though!!! The staff were all lovely, apart from the miserable woman on the reception desk. The breakfasts were great, a good choice for me but then I like eggs, ham, salad, cheese. Good selection of breads but no fruit juices, just water but lots of speciality teas. Too many smokers for my liking in the restaurant which was a shame. The pool area was ok but the pigeons used the pool more than the residents. The cafe in the car park was a bit weird with horrible food!
Kyrenia itself was very pretty with great restaurants and lots of choice and not too expensive but generally a dirty resort as the turks dont seem to appreciate keeping things clean.
