The hotel was in a fantastic setting with an easy stroll to the harbour. The sea views from the rooms were uninterrupted and the staff were very frienly and helpful. The hotel's decore was dated - like stepping back thirty years but its charm was that the pace of life was also in keeping with another era!

Whilst we were there some problems arose with the plumbing - flooded bathrooms and the smell of sewage made some rooms uninhabitable but the staff were super and we were moved to another room without any fuss and bother. It didn't spoil our enjoyment of the time spent there.

Our one complaint was the lack of a hospitality tray for tea and coffee in the rooms. The website advertised the facility but the staff were unable to find a kettle for us and said they were 'only in selected rooms' and our rooms were not selected! Most annoying when we had upgraded our booking to sea view rooms and found the necessity to buy tea and coffee quite expensive in the bar. It wasn't just the cost but the inconvenience that was annoying!

Never the less we enjoyed the stay in the hotel and would go again as we enjoyed the position, character and ambience of the hotel.
