This is a hotel review for Colony Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Stop the Smoking!!!”
The Colony Hotel is nice, yes, nice I think is the word to describe it. It is not 5 star elegance that one finds in the opulent and enormous hotels that are built today all around the world. It has more of the feel of the hotels of 1960's Europe - which is not to say that it is such a bad thing!
However, two things let the hotel down badly. First was the food, which was decidely average. The second was the hotel's unwillingness to provide areas in the hotel for non-smokers.
The restaurant's idea to provide us with a non-smoking area was to stick us in the deepest corner of the room with the "smoking" tables less that 2 meters away and no high powered extractors at all.
The bedrooms are simply designated "non-smoking" by way of a small, portable sign that in no way clears the room of its obnoxious smells left behind by years of previous smokers.
The casino was worse and as such we were unable to spend any time in it whatsoever.
Until these things are changed, we shall not return to this hotel.
Liked — Town/area/golfcourse
Disliked — Lack of non-smoking policy
