Colony Hotel Review - 7 of 98 Reviews

We spent two weeks at this hotel, and cannot find fault with the place at all. It is next to a Casino, which is not a problem, and right in the centre of Kyrenia – just step outside the door and you are right in the heart of this charming old city. We came here to explore the whole area and found many wonderful places and some incredible ruins. The Abbey at Bellapais was one of our favourite places to walk to. The isolated beaches were great for walking on and there was always a pleasant breeze. The old town at Famagusta is delightful and there are plenty of bars and cafes to sit outside and watch the world go by.

Outside the towns, it is much quieter and the scenery is just beautiful with a backdrop of the mountains on one side and usually the bluest sea on the other side. It is hard not to want to stay longer here. We also liked it as the area appeals to retirees during the winter months, and we met some very nice, similar-minded guests to chat with at the hotel. We only ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which was very nice and well presented. We enjoyed reading by the rooftop pool some days. The staff here are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for them, which is another great reason to come back. They made us feel so welcome, spoke good English and were happy to tell us where to visit and where to eat out at reasonable prices. I can happily recommend this hotel for anyone who is going to Kyrenia and wants to stay in a luxury hotel, in a central location.
