Colony Hotel Review - 42 of 98 Reviews

My wife and I stayed here at the Colony Hotel in northern cyprus for several days a few weeks ago. For the most part, we have good things to say about this hotel, with only a few minor annoyances. I will say that I was particularly impressed with the ease with which I managed to get our reservations booked and confirmed. Also upon arrival, we were met at the car and our luggage taken in for us, which was really nice, as most places don't do that. Also the check-in process was speedy and in a matter of minutes we were being shown to our room.

The room was large with plenty of seating. The one thing I particularly notice about hotel rooms is whether or not they have extra seating besides the bed. I like a chair or two or maybe even a couch in addition to the bed. This one did have extra chairs and I was pleased with that. Also, they were comfortable, so that's a plus. There was also a desk, desk chair, minibar, tv and a large bathroom with an excellent shower. The only annoyances were the fact that the bed was uncomfortable (a bit too firm for my taste), the minibar was more expensive than I consider the norm, and there was no complimentary bottled water. Really though, those were the only things I found wrong with our entire stay.

We enjoyed the breakfasts very much. There was a wide variety and we never got bored with the selections. We ate dinner in the dining room only once but found it to be wonderful. Also the service in the dining room was fantastic during our one dinner and during breakfast everyday. The servers really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Ditto for the staff in the bar/lounge. I can't say enough good things about the staff here. They do try to please and usually do a great job.

Both my wife and I visited the spa here and found it to be very relaxing. We enjoyed various spa treatments during our stay and we plan to come back again and stay here at the Colony Hotel just for the spa treatments alone! They're reasonably priced also, so absolutely no complaints with the prices.

We both agreed that we enjoyed our stay enough that we'll book here again next year and we do plan to recommend North Cyprus to some of our friends also.
