Colony Hotel Review - 38 of 98 Reviews

My wife and I stayed at the Colony Hotel with our baby daughter recently and found it to be very nice and extremely relaxing. We live in South Cyprus and have spent quite a bit of time in North Cyprus, actually.

Booking the hotel was easy and quick. All it took was an email and I received a prompt reply confirming our reservation. Upon arrival, we were greeted outside, next to our car in fact, and ushered inside. Our bags were brought in by the staff. They got us checked in quickly and even showed us to our room (a nice touch, rather than simply giving us a key and pointing us in the general direction).

Our room was large and comfortable with a spacious bathroom and modern shower. The sitting area was cozy and the chairs were comfortable. Our room boasted a mini-bar but I was put off by the high prices, so we opted not to use it. I also wished for some bottled water, but unlike some hotels, this one didn't offer complimentary bottles. The only other thing I disliked about the room was the exceptionally firm mattresses.

We ate breakfast in the hotel dining room every morning. The breakfast menu offered a large variety of options and the food was excellent. We ate dinner there once also and it was exceptional. They offered an extensive wine list but again, the prices were higher than we're used to. In the afternoons, the lounge offers complimentary snacks and we found the atmosphere in the lounge area to be very nice and relaxing. We enjoyed spending a few quiet moments there from time to time.

We also spent plenty of time in the spa area. Both my wife and I got massages, which were awesome – the best massages we've ever had, to be perfectly honest – and they were reasonably priced too. The jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were clean and relaxing. Great ambience! I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the spa area and spent a lot of time there, in fact.

The hotel staff was exceptional and showed endless patience with our daughter. We can't thank them enough for their friendliness and wonderful demeaner. All in all, I really enjoyed the Colony Hotel and I'm sure I'll be back again.
