Hi all, my wife booked a short trip as a surprise for my birthday last month and we booked into The Colony hotel which seemed to come highly recommended on several websites. She booked over the telephone with Go North Cyprus company and we had a smooth flight and a pretty enjoyable transfer from the airport too.

Our bedroom was really nice. Very comfortable and proabably cleaner than most other hotels we've visited in Europe but for the high price we paid, we had expected no less really. While at the Colony Hotel we enjoyed a few relaxing nights in the rooftop bar which although nice, was very expensive compared to bars around the area. We also had a disappointment with the entertainment, which we were told would be starting at midnight. Quite shockingly we waited eagerly for the entertainment. It was a band who would have struggled not to be booed off stage in our local! It was also very very loud too. The worst of it was that at about 1am we went to bed but the 'music' was sooo loud it reverberated through the floors until gone 3am.

The following day my partner politely complained about about not being able to sleep and asked to be moved. They outright said it was not possible as the hotel was full. There was no way this was true! It wasnt really busy at all. If we had not paid in full I may have considered forcing the issue about moving further! Anyway, we had a good week and if the hotel were more considerate of their guests, Id say this hotel could easily be one of the top hotels in this part of Cyprus. Check the entertainment list before booking!
