Most hotels like to market themselves as comfort personified, with lovely attentive and friendly staff. Ive travelled the world over the years and I can honestly say only very few hotels actually live up to their marketing websites and pamphlets. Thats exactly why I was so incredibly pleased when we arrived at the Colony Hotel. No sooner had we walked in, the staff were going out of their way to make us comfortable after our journey travelling. We were shown to our room which was very clean, tidy and had all we needed. They arent luxury rooms or anything but you wont be complaining about them either. The hotel seemed quiet even though there were quite a few guests staying at the same time as us. Night time sleeping was a piece of cake as youcould literally have heard a pin drop, which pleased my husband who often finds noisy hotels a real off put.

We ate breakfast in the hotel and then ventured out for the day and finally found restaurants for evening meals before heading back to the hotel to relax at night. The hotel isnt too far from the harbour which is where youll see most of the restaurants arelocated, so that suited us just fine. One particular night we did stay in the hotel for evening meal and it was superb. It wasnt cheap, but the quality of the food was excellent and you could easily have paid more for it in any other tourist restaurant. We are already planning our return trip for september this year and would say its a great place to stay for anybody going to Cyprus!
