We arrived late in the evening and were the last coach drop to be dropped off at our hotel. The hotel we'd chosen, Club Simena, looked great from the outside and we were understandably excited, but unfortunately there was an uneven path to the door which caused me a hazard as I suffer with a bad back. It was quite a shock when we first took a look at the room which was very basic indeed.

There was very little in the way of furniture and a bulb hanging from the ceiling without a lamp shade, which wasnt very nice to look at! Upon arrival there wasnt even a kettle in the kitchen but after a word with the manager one soon turned up. There was a fridge and a sink which seemed quite clean and the shower was nice, which I always think is important when you're away from home. Each day a cleaner from the Hotel came in and did a thorough job, although I was careful to put away any expensive or valuable possessions, which you would do at any hotel.

We spoke to some of the other guests about the food in the hotel and they all seemed to have the same opinion, it was very basic and the temperature a little questionable, however nobody could say they were ill from it and it did taste pretty good too. The Club Simena Hotel is in a very remote area though, so it does take a little effort to get to some places. There was a shuttle bus available and some people decided it was best to hire cars instead. The pool itself was fairly small but quite nice and clean for the children. We decided to spend a few days lazing by the pool which at this time of year was very quiet.

Probably the biggest issue we saw was the lack of close restaurants and attractions, we had to travel on the bus to get to any of these, but on the plus side of this, the being quiet and isolated would probably be ideal for some people depending on what type of holiday break you wanted.
