I feel comfortable calling myself a regular at the Simena, in as much as you can possibly be a “regular” at an establishment in a foreign country. I've been there over a dozen times at least, so I know the place incredibly well. The last few times I've been I booked through GoNorthCyprus (my most recent visit being in over Christmas last year) which has simplified the whole process somewhat. I expect I've spoken to the whole team at some point or another but this time I made arrangements through someone called Gary, who joked that I was the easiest customer he'd had all year on account of the fact that I'd already decided where I was going. They're a good bunch and I'd definitely recommend them.

The Simena itself has been extensively refurbished including the reception and rooms which are now much more in keeping with modern tastes and very beautifully decorated to my eyes. This brings the look of the hotel into line with the attitudes of the staff who as usual, and as they've been for years, were respectful, friendly and enthusiastic at all times. I can be a bit of a chatterbox so I know that part in particular must be a challenge for the barman!

Speaking of the bar- the one at poolside is excellent and reasonably priced considering how nice it is. I'm not much of a swimmer so I can't comment on the quality of the water but it certainly looks very clean and never seems grossly overcrowded during my visits.

If you do manage to drag yourself away from the Simena to go exploring, you'll find a bus stop right outside the hotel and the dolmus will get you anywhere you want to go for pocket change, essentially. Happy holidaying!
