I have mixed feelings about our stay at the Club Simena Hotel, Kyrenia. We were looking for a relaxing holiday and although that's what we got: the hotel was a lot quieter than we expected in terms of entertainment and having things close by. It was a little isolated so we had to hire a car unexpectedly.

Despite the hotel being too quiet for our liking, we found the staff to be excellent. On the first night, we had a problem with our room and they moved us first thing in the morning, without hesitation. The room we moved to was excellent- really big and fantastically clean. It also had a balcony big enough to sunbathe on and wi-fi which pleased the kids no end! The cleaning staff were really thorough and we had fresh towels every day.

The Club Simena has a well maintained pool and there is a beach really close by, with a lovely little beach café. Other than going to the beach, we spent most of our holiday exploring which actually turned out to be pretty exciting as North Cyprus has so much to offer! Our favourite place was Bellapais with its gorgeous abbey and stunning views.

The food at the Club Simena was fresh and the evening meals were always nice and hot but the choice was a little lacking at breakfast and dinner.
