Club Simena Review - 22 of 40 Reviews

As we were going off-peak, the interconnected bungalows at Club Simena were available to us, so when our booking agent, Mandy, suggested it, we jumped at the chance! The party consisted of my husband and I and our two teenage children with a friend each! There was no way we would have considered staying together and they're a little too young to be left to their own devices. The hotel were fabulously accommodating, putting extra beds in our children's bungalow! In fact the friendly, helpful staff were the best thing about the hotel.

Our stay was incredibly reasonable but in honesty, although the staff were lovely, the Club Simena was really only worth what we paid. Both bungalows were a little unloved and there were some areas that really should have been cleaner, particularly the fridge! They were, however, well equipped and spacious.

The facilities at the hotel were quite worn and although the grounds were beautiful, they didn't seem well tended to. Also there were wild cats roaming the gardens and even though they didn't bother us, if my children were younger I would have been quite concerned and certainly not happy!

Luckily we self-catered as the restaurant didn't really impress us: the whole room looked incredibly dated and the menu was quite limited. To be honest we only made our own breakfast as there were so many restaurants offering delicious, local food, in the surrounding towns.

We had a wonderful holiday in North Cyprus because it was such a beautiful place, with so much going on. My husband and I were particularly taken by its rich history. However, we won't be staying at the Club Simena again. It suited our situation perfectly and didn't hinder our holiday (as we weren't there very often anyway) but it certainly didn't add to it.
