We visited to the Hotel Club Simena Holiday Village for a spring break, and although the hotel is really set up for summer visitors, we had a nice time. The whole complex centres around the outdoor swimming pool, which I did not want to swim in, but there was plenty of warm sun to sit out in for most of the day. The hotel insisted on playing music all day by the pool, which was distracting and not needed.

The gardens were nicely kept and nice to sit in, and you did not hear any road noise either. The hotel lobby bar is fine for a drink and a sit down, but we felt there could have been more inside sitting areas. Our room was quite big and very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and perfectly in order.

Breakfast on the terrace was very nice and you did not have to eat fast as the staff were happy for you just to sit and enjoy the sunshine.

We took a taxi into Girne (Kyrenia), which is about 10 miles down the road, which made a lovely day out. Local buses do run past the hotel, but we were a little nervous about taking one, as we do not speak Turkish.

I think the Club Simena is more a young person's or family hotel, as they would enjoy things like the swim-up pool bar, (which was very popular) the activities the hotel put on, etc. Next time we go to north Cyprus we will stay nearer Kyrenia as we don't like to walk too far to restaurants and shops, and we don't need to swim.
