My recent stay at Citrus Tree Gardens wasn't the first time I'd stayed here. My husband and I visited this wonderful hotel a year or so ago. During our previous visit to North Cyprius, I was enthralled and believed this to be a lovely place. I still think it's lovely; however this time I noticed the place could use a good cleaning. I noticed a general air of neglect, with dust on most surfaces and dog hairs on the carpet and stairs. Even our bungalow was a bit dusty and the bathroom taps weren't very clean either. Also they appeared to be outdated and could have used refurbishing. It appeared that they didn't have enough cleaners on staff to keep the place sparkling clean, as it was during our first stay.

In spite of this, we did have a good time. As this hotel caters to young and old alike, it's possible to meet a variety of interesting people of all ages and we did. Extended family vacations, such as parents traveling with children and/or grandparents would very much enjoy this hotel, as it seems to cater to groups and large families quite well.

We slept well on the beds in our bungalow, as they were extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed our breakfasts in the Citrus tree Gardens dining room very much and we also spent some time in the hotel bar. I can't say enough good things about the bartenders. They went out of their way to make sure we had what we wanted and they were quite friendly and did their duties in an efficient manner. The entire staff at the hotel is in fact very polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel also keeps cars for rent and the rates are reasonable. This was handy for us, and I appreciated that extra service to see more of North Cyprus.

We didn't eat many meals other than breakfast at the Citrus Tree Gardens, as we preferred to drive or walk to one of the local northern cyprus restaurants nearby. There are so many to choose from, we wanted to try someplace new for each meal. That's another great thing about this hotel – there are so many restaurants close by. I would definitely stay here again, but I'm hoping that next time, I'll see the place looking sparkling clean.
