“Trip to the Bellapais Monestary Village”
My family and myself have just returned from our second trip to Bellapais Monastery Village and yet again it didn't disappoint. It's a fantastic hotel with great staff who are incredibly friendly and attentive. We felt that this was really important, particularly when travelling off-season as you had to spent quite a bit of time in the vicinity of the hotel.
We stayed in one of the villas situation in the gardens. It was very spacious, with a bedroom upstairs. In addition to this, it was spotlessly clean with well presented furnishing. The gardens were so beautiful and the views from the hotel were naturally stunning: it was really easy to forget every day worries staying here as it felt like a secluded retreat- perhaps not so suitable then for those requiring a lively holiday. However, had we wanted, we could've made our way to the more lively town in Kyrenia. As it stood, we chose the hotel so that we could get away from the bustle of everyday life.
The hotel restaurant was very good but didn't offer a huge range of traditional dishes so we decided to venture out on some evenings. The town of Bellapais is said to have an extensive range of high quality traditional restaurants (especially the Bella Moon) but is an uphill walk of about 30 minutes. Luckily, when we did go out, the restaurants we visited offered a free taxi service so this didn't pose a problem.
