The Bella View Hotel is a very nice, quiet place to stay. The Hotel is very near Bellapais Abbey, and a short drive from the town. The staff were very welcoming and very eager to help us where possible. The food was varied (more often than not there are local dishes and ones of vaguely British origin) and very nicely prepared, although it was a little more expensive to eat at the hotel than it was to eat out at a restaurant. The pool area was peaceful and never got over crowded- this was nice as we'd expected to have to fight for a sun lounger like you do at many of these kinds of places. Instead we found ourselves with an abundance to choose from and a serene, near-empty swimming pool to relax around in the sun.

We did a fair amount of travelling in and around the area and I am pleased to say we discovered some wonderful sights. If you can't afford taxi fares I would strongly recommend hiring a car and doing a bit of exploring. The staff at the hotel were quick to make this same recommendation to us and we were very glad we listened. If you prefer walking, you can reach the nearest town (Kyrenia) on foot, but although it's mostly downhill it will take a fair amount of time so if you haven't much time then a taxi would be better. After a week at the Bella View I am happy to report an excellent stay at an excellent hotel.
