This is a hotel review for Bella View Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Friendly and hospitable hotel”
We arrived late but were invited to the party in the downstairs function rooms where a Cypriot musical night was underway. This was fine, we had food and drinks and sucked in the atmosphere though it was a little noisy.
We had not specified we needed twin beds beforehand but the staff were very obliging and did the necessary for us. The room was fine with a mountain view. Food was lovely too, my friend is a vegetarian & happy with the choices though the manager would have offered alternatives too had he known. Breakfast was adequate rather than wonderful but was fine -pity the orange juice was not fresh as oranges are plentiful in cyprus. Local wine was good too, no complaints about that.
Staff always polite and helpful too. The walk to kyrenia was good , takes 40 minutes and an hour back, as it is uphill. The walk up to bellapais abbey was good too, the village is pleasant with a few restaurants to try but go for one with a view.
Decor in the hotel is a bit dark for my taste but it was clean and well maintained. They change the towels daily - no need really but this is quite standard. Beds comfortable and the quiet situation meant we did not get disturbed.
Overall a good place to stay. If you want a lift to town there is transport laid on. No local restaurants or shops in the immediate vicinity but a useful supermarket at the bottom of the hill.
