This is a hotel review for Almond Holiday Village in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Great value in Cyprus”
Desperate for a sunshine break that wouldn't bust our budget, my boyfriend and I chose North Cyprus for the exchange rate (Turkish lira, not Euro) and then booked the Almond Village because of its good reviews. We saved more cash by flying into south Cyprus with a budget airline, and the Almond arranged for a transfer to take us over the border, which was very easy and no hassle at all.
The family owners welcomed us even though we arrived very late in the season (last week November). Our one bedroom villa in the nicely landscaped grounds had plenty of space for us both, and the heating kept it nice and cosy on the rather chilly nights. The bed was on a mezzanine floor so had a light and airy feel to it.
Breakfast was delicious, and Alsancak village was only a short walk away and restaurants there were open, but not every night. The pool was a bit chilly for my tastes, but surprisingly the sea was just warm enough for a toe-reviving paddle when we went to the nearby beach.
The Asik family who own the village made us feel very welcome, and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Almond Village to anyone looking for the villa experience with the convenience of a holiday village facilities.
Liked — villa, welcome, English breakfast
Disliked — chilly pool
