The reason we decided to test out the Ada Beach Hotel was simply that the previous 2 hotels had casinos attached and we're definitely not a gambling couple being in our 60's and not even playing the lottery! Anyhow, let's start with the positives – these being the location and the sea views. The location is simply fantastic even if it is a bit out on a limb from any of the main facilities you might want while away on holiday.

The sea views, well, these are exactly what you'd want in a hotel when you vacation near the beach! Far from being advertised as a budget hotel, we actually paid a fair amount for our stay here. There were plenty of cheaper places but the Ada did seem to appeal to our requirements. Our check in ran pretty smoothly and initially we were thrilled with the large room which was clean and spacious. That said, we had a few snags with the electrics in the room and had to really push staff to get them resolved.

The pool was in a good state, but I noticed a number of cigarette ends scattered around – probably from late night partying – and these weren't cleaned up in 2 days. Apart from the pool area, I generally feel that the cleanliness and hygiene in the hotel isn't bad. Certainly not bad enough to be a negative in this review. One pretty important point I should note is that loud music is a frequent occurrence at the Ada, so if you're after peace and quiet, go elsewhere (or at least ask for a room up on the higher floors where the sound won't travel as much).

If you're unfortunate enough to get a room within reach of the pool bar, you can expect to be up all night. All in all, a nice place but not as great as the price would lead you to expect.
