Acapulco Beach Club Hotel Review - 30 of 127 Reviews

Four of us, of mature ages, stayed here for two weeks in October in two de-luxe villas set in attractive gardens.

The villa was comfortable and clean with bedding and towels changed on a daily basis by the cleaning ladies. The refrigerator was welcome for our own drinks as we did find these expensive in the hotel. Television, we never turned it on.

The weather was very good which meant we were able to make good use of the 'Relax pool' every morning. Here we could just sit on comfortable beds and read with the occasional few lengths of the pool to help cool down, followed by a cool beer served by a smiling waiter from the nearby bar. Afternoons were sometimes spent at the beach which was well serviced with loungers, guard etc.

As dusk fell we often visited the indoor pool to do our 'lengths' before the evening meal and were also able to make good use of the gym area. The free use of these was a real bonus. As was the constant supply of clean towels at all the pool areas and beach.

Food was very plentiful for breakfast and evening meal and there was ample choice for us with lots of 'healthy options' of salads and fruit.

As we had rented a car we were able to make a number of visits to places. Some we had visited during a previous holiday in North Cyprus. Kyrenia, Cape Kormakiti and Mavi Cosh, Bellapais, Nicosia - where we walked through to the south side - and an extended visit to the Karpaz peninsula. Here we stayed for a night just before the Apostolos Monastery at Alis Big Sand Beach Bar Not quite the same facilities as the Acapulco. However the food was good, the view down the mile long sandy beach was very attractive and the stars ... the stars were just brilliant.

Returning to the Acapulco we did appreciate more the space, comfort and good quality showers etc.

We found all the staff we had contact with to be very friendly and helpful and they seemed to be cheerful at all times, even when under pressure in a crowded restaurant. The cleaners were happy to work round us if we were still in our rooms, the staff at the relax and indoor pools were always welcoming and the restaurant staff were most obliging, even helping us to learn a little bit of their language at times.

Denise was a constant source of assistance and advice on very many topics from problems with door keys, local shops and buses to making visits further afield.

Finally a word of thanks to the senior managment of the hotel. Whilst every member of staff we met was polite, smiling and helpful we appreciate that is only so if they are well led and motivated by their managers.

For us it proved to be a very good holiday and good value.

Disliked — maybe a couple outdoor chairs to sit in our own bit of garden
