Acapulco Beach Club Hotel Review - 29 of 127 Reviews

We've stayed at the Acapulco twice, both times we had a bungalow set in the pretty grounds which was very spacious and clean. My one problem with the bungalows is that it is not possible to sit outside (no balcony/outside space) and there was no where to dry wet towels or swimsuits. The beds were changed daily, the a/c worked perfectly, and a fridge in the room meant we could keep drinks nice and cold. I would have liked a tea/coffee making facility as you get in most British hotels. The facilities in the resort itself were great, our 2 children were in their element what with the pools and slides, the beach and the indoor spa pool which was a real treat after the sun had gone down.

The weather in October was just right for us, however the days are shorter so we found that by 4pm we were leaving the pool/beach, and toward the end of our week we had some fantastic thunder storms and one afternoon of solid rain. There are plenty of other activities to occupy the children outdoor, and a games room inside the hotel too which we used. We didn't make use of the bars in the evenings as our children are too young, so after our evening meal we would go back to our bungalow and play games or read.

The food in the restaurant was lovely, very good breakfasts but we got a bit bored in the evenings as it all gets a bit monotonous, the same things on offer at the hot and cold buffet, and it was a pain sometimes to have to keep getting up to help yourself. Drinks are a bit pricey as extras go. Over the weekend there seemed to be a convention on so it was very difficult to get a table at mealtimes, however the waiters (or some of them) would do their best to fit us in. The staff were very friendly and made a big fuss of the children which they loved.

You can be restricted to the hotel grounds as it's a good 20 minute drive from town (Kyrenia) but there is a taxi and bus service provided, although we hired a car so were able to come and go as we pleased. We had a very enjoyable holiday and would consider visiting again.
