Watermill Hotel Review - 1 of 1 Review
This is a hotel review for Watermill Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“The Watermill was just too simple for us”
Myself, my husband and our two friends visited North Cyprus at the end of April this year. We booked the Watermill partly due to its low cost and because we booked rather last minute, we did have moderate expectations considering it was a 3 star. The hotel was clean, relatively comfortable and the staff were friendly, but it did not meet our expectations. We knew when we booked that it would not be high spec and plush but we did expect the same standards from the hotel as we would a 3 star in the UK. We found it to be more like a guest house.
The décor was simple and fairly old fashioned. The restaurant was quite quaint and traditional looking but I expected something more modern and comfortable from the rooms themselves; they were rather tatty around the edges. However, we were impressed by their size in relation to the size of the hotel.
Apart from breakfast, we chose not to eat at the hotel and ate at a different restaurant in Kyrenia every day. We were incredibly satisfied by the choice of fresh produce and local delicacies on offer. We know the hotel has a weekly BBQ night, which did smell appetising, but we were still reluctant to give it a try. Likewise we ventured out for the majority of the day, not using the hotel pool. The beaches were far too gorgeous!
Overall, we had an amazing holiday in terms of the location but found the hotel to be too old fashioned and simple.
