Topset Hotel Review - 13 of 21 Reviews

My family and I stayed here in May after being matched to it by our travel agent Gary at GoNorthCyprus.com. Our first impressions of the place were relatively good - cleanliness is always a major issue for me whenever I go abroad and I was happy to see that the Topset had obviously been cleaned very recently. While not particularly bad the interior though needed a little attention, to be honest. It definitely needs updating to compete with some of the other hotels in the immediate area and whilst I appreciate that not everywhere can be the Ritz, this place looked pretty basic.

The hotel is situated a little off the beaten track. This is either a blessing or a curse, depending on the kind of holidays you like to take. For us, it turned out to be fantastic. The kids wanted a vacation filled with excitement and activities, and this meant they were free to play around without getting into too much trouble.

On the plus side, the pool area was very nice indeed (there was a 'private beach' too). The staff were mostly extremely helpful (one notable exception, whom I discussed with the manager immediately) and the breakfast was as good as you can reasonably expect from this sort of place. The other guests were friendly and respectful I suppose, although that was more a case of luck rather than any conscious decision on the part of hotel management I should think.

I can honestly say I'd visit the Topset again. It was pretty well suited to our needs, and there were enough redeeming qualities to make up for the shortcomings. It's far from the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and it might well be perfect for some folks!
