Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel Review - 4 of 35 Reviews

We decided that the Savoy Ottoman looked a cut above the average hotel in Kyrenia just from its pictures, and we were not disappointed. It really does gleam like a palace!

Often hotels out of season can be deathly and staff can tend to kick back, but at the Savoy Ottoman we got excellent service, and the staff seemed genuinely pleased to help. There was certainly plenty to see and do during February and I think being in Kyrenia itself rather than stuck out in a beach resort really helped. We could walk down into the old part of town near the harbour, and the restaurants there were really good for either a nice lunch, or an evening meal, even if it was a bit 'fresh' to sit on the rooftop terraces at night. We didn't hire a car, didn't need to.

The hotel food was very good, plenty of choice at breakfast Including English is you wanted it - why?) and good evening meals well prepared and served hot, a change from some Mediterranean hotels we've stayed in. The Lebanese restaurant was quite busy with locals, so we made sure we booked a table, and the food really was excellent.

I enjoyed long soaks in the pool and the Turkish steam room, and certainly the whole ambience of the hotel invited you just to sit back and relax.

Overall, a lovely hotel and a really good deal too - what more could we want?
