This is a hotel review for Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“service good, hotel not as you would expect from a top hotel”
The staff are really pleasant & out to please ( which they do well) we stayed for New year "to treat our selves" we had a good New Years eve & breakfast in the morning, then went walking to clear our "heads"! when we got back to the hotel, via the main entrance the two main chefs (in full chefs whites)were holding down a sheep right outside the main doors, with it's throat cut, waiting for it to bleed out!!! into the main drains (thanks for that it made my hung over stomach feel lots better!! as you would imagine)
While we are broad minded & have travelled all over the world, so we understand Halal meat & all that it represents. I would not expect to see a creature being held down right outside a 5 star hotel so that the guests have to walk past it! !as we did this New years day! & all it's blood running down the paving outside the reception, all the while it's bleating & all the guests were upset.
The staff on the reception desks attitude was that we didn't understand!
We do understand!
What did they not understand about 5 star ?
Liked — everything outside the hotel & the hotel staff
Disliked — The hotel management's attitude to the people that they need to keep operating
