“The Sammy's Hotel catered for our needs but was just a base.”

I booked the Sammy's Hotel last minute through www.gonorthcyprus. We didn't have many hotels to choose from because of the late booking but this one had the best location- close to everywhere we wanted to visit. Overall we had a very good stay and wonderful holiday, but the hotel was average and not really anything special.

Our hotel room was clean and well equipped. It also had a good sized fridge. It was clear that it had recently been painted, but the carpets and furniture were worn and dated, so the fresh lick of paint was lost on the room. The bed was very comfortable, however.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found the breakfast selection to be very good, although my husband was a bit pained to see that they didn't have what he'd call a 'full English.' I disagreed with him because I'm a firm believer that you go on holiday to sample new cuisine, not stick to what you're used to! The waiting staff were very attentive and efficient. My only bugbear about the breakfast at the Sammy's was the fact that they served instant coffee.

As I said earlier, the best thing about the Sammy's Hotel is its location as it's situated just outside of Kyrenia town so it's relatively peaceful, but the hustle and bustle is just a walk away. We absolutely loved Kyrenia, especially the fact that most of it is still relatively traditional and not spoilt by tourism.

Although there wasn't anything to really complain about at the Sammy's Hotel, I will only stay here again if on a budget. It was a little too simple for my liking.
