Rocks Hotel Review - 49 of 62 Reviews

This was our first holiday in North Cyprus and the Rocks Hotel proved to be tremendous value for money. Absolutely all of the facilities were top class and never have we known such helpful and pleasant staff in over 40 years of holidaying world-wide. Public areas were constantly being cleaned and the bedroom (standard size) was enormous - it would have been classed as a suite in many other 5 star hotels - with a really comfortable bed, generous sized wardrobes + the usual mini-bar, safe etc. The bathroom was well lit and always stocked with a host of quality toiletries. The pool complex was first class and well staffed - towels provided and placed exactly where you wanted them. Plenty of shade for careful sunbathers; a separate dining area; showers and changing; and a lower deck area for safe sea swimming. There were some road works adjacent to the hotel, so a bit of care was needed walking for approx. 100m towards the harbour, which is only a few minutes walk away. The hotel staff hosed down the temporary road surface throughout the day to reduce dust etc. These works should be completed soon and whilst we were there areas of new paving were laid for immediate use - so no real problem despite some of the other reviews! For a bit of fun the hotel Casino is worth a visit or two. One last point to mention - the buffet breakfasts were spectacular! We stayed on a bed and breakfast deal and there is loads of choice of good restaurants around the harbour and in the old town. If you can find it - try the Fisherman's Inn - simple menu - great food - fantastic value (only open in the evenings but call by in the daytime for a glass of home made lemonade - not to be missed)
